carlosceldran:

I just saw the CBCP/PH Catholic Church wasting Filipino tax money today in REAL time.
A special session was planned at a Manila Regional trial court today with Judge Ruiz regarding my charges of “Blasphemy aka Offending religious feelings”. This was done as a special act so that this case can reach conclusion faster.
But unfortunately, even if they knew of this court date since our last August 9 trial date, the complainant Monsignor Cerbo of Manila Cathedral didn’t show up AGAIN. Neither did CBCP counsel, Atty. Ronaldo Reyes, who just sent a nervous secretary to deliver an excuse that Atty. Reyes had contracted GOUT just this morning. Yes. GOUT.
So in effect: Filipino taxpayers time, aircon, gasoline, and money was wasted AGAIN thanks to CBCP not showing up at the trial nor notifying anyone earlier.
I can’t figure them out. Since they sent a rep, it surely shows that they DO NOT want to drop the case. But yet, they aren’t taking the case seriously by appearing in court. So to make up for their absence, THERE are now TWO more trial dates, Oct. 5 & 19 - both without any assurances that Monsignor Cerbo nor Atty. Reyes will show up at all AGAIN.
Argh. So as clueless as I am to their motives and about whatever it may be that’s going through their mind. Only one thing I know is for certain, we can all look forward to TWO more instances of wasting Philippine judicial, time, aircon, and money.
